Look, Look, Looky, Lou – what I found. I scored a cute white wicker chair, white ceramic pitcher, Willow Tree “New Life” figurine (for my Sis, who’s probably reading this now, so Surprise!) and Valentine themed Scrapbook magazine all for less then $60. I definitely got the thriftin bug from visiting a couple of stores, so I decided to take a road trip to Hyde Park Antique district of Tampa. I invited my Mom to tag along. We had a fun day and I snapped some pictures of what we saw. You will quickly notice, my sudden obsession for turquoise (again). I’ve always loved turquoise, but now its virtually everywhere, so designing with it will be easy.
Our first stop was Blue Moon Trading Co. I absolutely adored this store and everything in it. Here are a few of the unique pieces that I love!
Bummer, my phone camera didn’t do this turquoise dresser justice.
How cute are these picture frames? From what I can tell they are constructed from left over painted wood with a thin layer of clear plastic over scrapbook paper and assembled with screws.
I love this piece, its beautiful! The owner told me that they custom built it.
Mom was happy to pose at our next stop Past Perfect of Tampa. They had really beautiful pieces. We drooled over two beautiful mirrors, but I was so taken by the custom work that I didn’t get a picture, oops! I did snap few other shots… Here they are.
Next stop… Wisteria Antiques a charming little shop with custom made pieces. Loved the Shabby Chic decor and the painting techniques on their refurb pieces. If you are ever in the area you should check them out.
The owner said, they had that mirror made. Hmm, that gets the creative brain a buzzing. I could see a floor mirror like this in our house. I’ve been searching for a floor mirror to put between our living room and entry hallway ever since we bought our house, but haven’t seen one I loved.
This is a unique piece custom created by Wisteria. They salvaged an old door, added molding and created a bench with storage underneath.
