Easy Way to Get Marker Out of Clothes

Purple Dress Shout and Toothbrush

Anyone who has kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews and etc. has come across a few stained clothes. Usually Sophia creates her masterpieces with washable markers, but unfortunately for this purple dress, she did not. I used Shout® The #1 Stain Remover and a Colgate toothbrush with sonic power vibrations to get the stains out.

I began by spraying Shout® over each of the stains. You will want to saturate the stains completely.  Be sure to place an old towel in between the front of the shirt and the back otherwise, the marker stain will bleed on the back of the shirt. Let the stain remover sit for 5-10 minutes.

Test an area of the stain with the toothbrush. If the marker doesn’t come out quickly, reapply more stain remover and wait another 5 mins. The vibrations from the toothbrush make it easy for set in stains to come out with ease. No more scrubbing, the vibrations from the toothbrush do all the work. All you have to is guide the brush to each stain.

After the stains have been removed put the dress in the wash. I washed the dress on warm, but always check the tag of your garment for wash and dry care settings if you are unsure. With Shout® you do not need to wash the garment right away. I’ve let clothes sit with Shout® for 1-2 days and the garments won’t fade.  I would not recommend letting OxiClean® Laundry Stain Remover sit on your clothes overnight, because it tends to leave a bleach spot where the spray was.

Sophia was happy to model the results of how well the stains came out.
