I was burning the midnight afternoon oil working on a client’s email blast when I was interrupted by an extremely excited six year old. “Mama, Mama, come and see, I finished my craft I was working on.” So we hoped down the stairs to the kitchen. I discovered an easy and affordable way to make decorative paper. This is fun for adults and kids of all ages. Paste paper is decorative paper found inside books and used on the outside of books as part of the cover. Centuries ago, book binders used their left over book binding paste mixed with pigment and brushed that onto the paper. They used various techniques, brush strokes and different tools to make 3-dimensional patterns and designs.

I had the pleasure of attending my first Wayzgoose. A Wayzgoose by definition is an annual feast of the persons employed in a printing office. The event was held on campus at the University of Tampa in the impressive Tampa Book Arts Studio (TBAS). It was a day filled with demonstrations, special guests and a chance to meet others who shared the same love of letterpress and talk shop. Read More »

Words cannot describe how delighted I am that we purchased our very own C&P 10×15 Letterpress. This all would not be possible without help from the big man upstairs, my family and friend’s never-ending support and last but certainly NOT least Gary Johanson. If it were not for Gary’s hard work rebuilding the press and his willingness to share letterpress, this would have never happened. I am blessed to have the means to start this new endeavor – it is a dream coming true!

Hi All.. Here’s a quick update before we head out on the road to pick up our new letterpress. Yay! Can you believe it is finally happening? I will post more pictures and hopefully a video or two really soon.
